Ok, so I'm sure everyone is aware of these email/zip 1st page submit prize draw offers (enter for your chance to win $500 Walmart voucher etc) with $1.5 payouts.
After a user has submitted info, they are redirected to a page of offers/options to join mailing lists.
Crucially, a user has a choice whether to opt in to these offers, therefore, a user's chance of wiing the stated prize remains the same regardless of the number of offers opted-in for.
These data collectors then monetize this data in a number of ways but they ultimately fall into either A or B
A - sending their own offers to users /marketing directly themselves (generating affiliate revenue)
B - selling/renting the data to anyone (the data buyer marketing for their own intentions)
My question relates to A
Presumably, they regularly seek new affiliate networks/offers that will convert well, as we all.
But what is their traffic defined as? Non Incentive, Incentive , soft incentive.
Depending on your view, it could be any of them.
Non-Incentive: They offer users the chance to win something, when they are signing up to the data controller. Not dependent on whether they sign up to an offer. Ultimately it's the user's choice to opt-in/participate in stated offers so they are in no way incentivized.
Incentive: Ultimately the traffic is after $500 voucher.
Soft incentive: Whilst traffic is wanting the $500 voucher, its users choice to a participate. So not a non incentive based payout, but equally not an incentive based payout somewhere in between?
I promote virtually identical offers that they do but in a purely non-incentive way. Just wondering whos getting a better ROI, but will depend a great deal on what their traffic is ultimately defined as by advertisers
