Is possible to earn money/traffic from instagram?

Hey guys,

Just trying to understand...
What do you do with a instagram account with lots of followers?
Is not possible to receive traffic from there since is not possible to add links, only in profile description right?
So, whats the point of eaing followers? I have an account with 2k and dont know what to do.

Can someone advice me? Thanks!
