I'd vaguely been aware of device fingerprinting, but wasn't aware that you could easily 'spoof' it.

I installed the extension, and then ran through some various testing sites - it basically retus a dynamically generated 'faked' fingerprint whenever a site requests to read the fingerprint, and the faked fingerprint changes each time.

And no, people who use this don't usually have anything to hide. I will use this for the same reason that I close my front curtains in the evening.
