Advice for me? Don't want a business, just long term personal investment

Hey guys,

I used to do IM but no more. I prefer the day job and also the regulations to run a business where I live are very high. It is not like the US or more business-liberal countries.

So I'm not interested in regular business i.e. trading, piecemeal income and expenditure.

I'm looking more to just make investments. And in actual fact, I don't even particularly want a regular retu. I'm happy just to make long term capital gain.

I know there is investing in the stock market but is there any alteative in the IM world?

For example, I know domains long term buy and hold is one. For example, in the UK (just to name one country as an example) if you buy and sell domains regularly, it is considered taxable business income. But if you buy and hold for the long term, when you sell up you need only pay any capital gains tax above the personal threshold. So it is not considered to be "ruing a business".

Are there any other such opportunities like this available? I'm in it for the long term and don't need instant retus but I do need something stable. I'd rather not build a white hat authority site as I've played that game before and it's just not for me. Simple is better.

Hopefully we can brainstorm a few ideas and help others out too.
